Brazos Bend State Park

Brazos Bend State Park, half an hour drive from Houston downtown is  a 4897 acre park in Texas, coupled with six lakes, creeks, hiking trails, campsites and star gazing opportunities all together. The marshy land here has become the ideal haven for American alligators, raccoons, venomous snakes and over 300 species of birds.
We were there on a glorious Friday afternoon. It was a wonderful weather and the 3 mile walk wasn’t tiring at all. The entrance was $7 per person and there’s plenty of parking spots.
When utmost peace and wonderful scenic beauty is all you want, this is one of the best places in Texas that I would refer to. We walked around the Elm Lake Loop and it was a beautiful hike. Wildlife is insane here!! We spotted more than 10 alligators basking in the sun and plenty of birds too. There were warning signs for snakes too, though we din’t find any and the turtles we saw were really cute. I’ll have the pictures below.

The barbecue and the picnic areas looked really awesome. We are definitely coming back, with our group in the summers for a barbecue party.
